RMSE 2024 Letter
Hello to whoever has been assigned to me! I made a last minute decision to sign up, so have put all my additional details in this letter. But of course, these are only ideas - if you have a story you want to tell about the characters I've requested that don't fit any of my prompts, please go for it!

The God Eaters - Jesse Hajicek
This book gave me a hangover, the love story was so intense. The hurt, the comfort, the passionate unfolding of their love! Also, when they're both feeling well they're kind of insatiable in bed. Didn't they go about 4 times a night? Anyway!
The ending left me longing for more about their recovery from the horrendous mental and physical trials they've just been through. How do they make a home together, how do they get along when they're not in constant mortal peril? Or more about their power sharing. I loved the last few lines where Ash said "there's nothing here" and Kieran replied "There will be." So much promise and potential! Or I mean, I'd be very happy with good old PWP either before they escape prison or any time during their adventures, or post-novel.
For art, I would genuinely love to see any of their camping scenes. Or perhaps their first kiss in that prison cell. Or maybe even Kieran when he decides to take his shirt off and parade around and Ash looks on with helpless lust. A lot of the scenes are so epic, and probably way too much to ask for art of, but the little domestic moments are just as wonderful to me.

Look, Colin and Lord Crane had that wonderful scene together in season 2 where they bonded over botany and I've thought about it ever since. Colin - I think we can all agree - is something of a nerd. He has been trying to be a rake in season 3 but it didn't take and it really couldn't have been more awkward honestly. In season 2 he has been on Very Interesting Travels and has lots of stories to tell, which all send his family running groaning from the room. But Lord Crane is actually interested in Colin's gap year! They make awkward jokes together! Perhaps Phillip's brother can come back from the dead (hey, amnesia sub-plot) and whisk Marina away. Or an AU where Phillip never married Marina at all and they meet instead on Colin's travels?
As for Benedict, well. I'm delighted that we saw him with a guy in s3 but I want more! I also think that he really does lack purpose in his life and that bothers him - and I feel it would be interesting to see him mature. His art seems to have taken a bit of a back seat this season, but I'd love to see him really embrace that again even if he does have conflicted feelings around it. And perhaps Lord Debling, who is very enthusiatic about people being enthusiastic about their interests can be just the person to awaken things in Benedict! Maybe Debling wants arich useful companion on his travels - someone who can draw and document his studies, or perhaps Benedict just gets inspired by Debling (or even Colin's travels!) and wants to do some of his own. Or they just feel all energised and horny after the balloon disaster and want to fuck behind a tree. That's good too.
For art, I would genuinely be so happy with just a picture of either pairing together in any way, just being intimate with each other - whether that's in a sexy way or just at a ball, or off on travels together.
Casting the Runes - M.R. James
I just happened to see this story in the tagset and ending up devouring the whole thing. I am so intrigued by this pairing! The way Edward Dunning is introduced really made me laugh: "he's a very happy man, is Dunning. Lots of hobbies and a comfortable home, and all his time to himself". So a confirmed bachelor by any chance? :D
What do they think of each other when they first meet? Is there instant attraction? I'd be interested in those long weeks Dunning had to wait before they could take any action about Karswell. I'd love if they were meeting regularly to discuss Karswell's movements, and also recognise that there is a spark between the two of them. Perhaps they have "might as well have fun, we might be dead tomorrow" sex and then catch feelings for each other. I loved that dramatic telegram "I come to you tonight." Could that be the moment that their lust and fear bubbles over into (what they think) can only be a one-off night of passion? And then they survive! Or perhaps their feelings don't grow until after they defeat Karswell, and their mixture of guilt and relief brings them together.
For art, I would love them perhaps relieving tension with good luck kisses before the train carriage heist! Train carriage sex is the best, honestly. Or their first meeting with all the papers spread around them.
