Hello and fic meme!

I haven't used my account for anything other than exchange letters in an age. I've dialled back my participation in exchanges (sadly for me!) because RL keeps scuppering me. But I would like to use this as more of a journal again.

Anyway - I will start myself with a meme: Go through your last 5 fics and share the first and last line. Provide no context.

In Chancery

It was a freezing November morning in Middle Temple, and Oliver Greenfield, with a slight lack of dignity for a barrister, was stamping some warmth back into his feet.

"Pity," Teddy said, but he moved over and settled his head on the pillow and arm around Oliver as if he'd been there always.

Yesterday Upon the Stair

Ron slipped into the morning meeting ten minutes late and with hope in his heart.

Ron laughed and hitched him a little closer as he walked out of Malfoy Manor and kicked the broken door shut behind them.

Max laughed back. "I told you. Phallic," he said, before taking Oskar's arm again and letting Oskar lead him home.

Paris to Varna

The sway of the train was making Arthur nod over the copy of The Times he had managed to purchase in Paris.

Jack said nothing, but only smiled as they drew Arthur close again.

Deadly Communion

It had begun on All Hallow’s Eve, this trouble.

And Oskar could do nothing but obey.

(It's funny that sandwiched between a couple of fairly ordinary sentences is a huge amount of smut for most of these!)

That should be a meme: post innocuous first and last lines, and people guess which ones lead to ridiculous amounts of smut.

I just finished re-reading Dracula, so I should also re-read Paris to Varna!

I have a Dracula WIP about the Correspondent that may never see the light of day, but those parts were always so entertaining. How did he get the column inches?

I also ended up with some fairly innocuous sentences that don't indicate the amount of smut they're leading to/finishing up after, haha

Funnily enough, the one that mentions love is by far the least smutty of the bunch ;)

For mine, the one that was 8,000 words of porn had completely innocuous first and last sentences 🤣

Haha, I love this. My fics that actually have out-of-the-ordinary first sentences tend to be more T rated.
